I’m passionate about making folk music, I have created top hits in Shina language. Shina is the most spoken language in Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir & Kohistan. I had recorded over 50 plus Shina songs since 2002 when I was in school. Over the years, I tried different genres, now I am content with the Sufi folk music of the region, and I keep experimenting with new tunes & redo old folk tunes. Being from a religious family, I was never encouraged to make music. Still, I continued the journey.
I am also pioneering in introducing female vocals in Shina music, and initially, we had backslashes, but with time now, it’s normal for female singers to sing.
I have also recorded folk songs in Burushaski, Khowar & Urdu.
